Jessie is an 87 year old breast cancer survivor who makes tote bags to give to breast cancer survivors.  Each bag comes with a handwritten note of encouragement from Jessie or one of her friends.

Jessie began making bags in 2006 after her first breast cancer surgery to keep busy during her recovery period. She used recycled fabric samples and upcycled supplies to create a patchwork design and to keep Jessie's Bags green.

Now we have a mobile community service project, and we take fabrics to various locations for volunteers to help us design our bags and to extend our outreach.

We donate our bags to breast cancer survivors at no cost to them. We gave away 100 bags a month in 2014.

But those bags don't make themselves!  We need help raising money for storage and transportation so that we can continue to spread hope and support.

1. A workshop/studio with room to store and work in. Minimum Cost: $5,000
2. Five new sewing machines so visitors can come over to volunteer and learn to sew from Jessie. Minimum Cost: $200 each
3. A van or truck for transporting fabric and supplies.
Minumum Cost: $5,000

Reaching our goal would allow us to expand, and it would mean that we can continue to encourage others one bag at a time!
