Jessicas Joy

Hi my name is Jessica May and I'm 10 years old! Jessica was born with beckwith wiedemann syndrome and a unique chromosome abnormality, Jess has lots of medical issues and has to deal with a lot which is why we are trying to make life a little more joyous for Jess. Jess has a tracheostomy, colostomy and is tube fed, she had spinal fusion 16 months ago which she taken along time to get over. We are planning on making Jessica's garden safe by laying artificial turf, Jess like to play in dirt and whilst it's great fun it's actually now dangerous for Jess as she suffers severe gut dysmotility and likes to put her fingers in her mouth, not a good mix!!!!! We would love to get Jess a summer house just for her, we plan to make it very sensory and a happy, safe place for Jess and also a hot tub so Jess can enjoy the warm water and help relax her back . Jess is the happiest and most determined person I've ever met, she makes me smile and cry happy tears daily, she has come through lots over the last ten years, a lot of surgery and intervention always smiling. Jess can't speak but through her smile and personality she frequently makes new friends and steals the hearts of strangers. Thanks for reading Jessica's story Alison, a very proud mum x
