Jessica's House Fire Fund
Donation protected
Today my cousin Jessica Mitchell's house burned down. Thankfully, she made it out with the dogs okay. Her husband, Aaron, and sons, Joshua and Carson (ages 10 and 8) are safe. Unfortunately, they lost everything. They believe a faulty heater in the garage started the fire. Since they live way out in the country, the volunteer fire department wasn't able to put out the fire in time to save anything. She had just been able to purchase a gaming system for her boy's Christmas gift that day, off of her layaway with help from others.
She just started a new job and her husband is unemployed currently. It's been a hellish year for her. She lost her brother this past Spring and it's been extremely hard on our family. They have been struggling financially. They don't have renters insurance and they have nothing now. Not even a change of clothes. Not to mention the fact that they lost everything in Hurricane Katrina as well. They have been able to rebuild since then, but now they face rebuilding with two young children, who still believe in Santa.
If you're unable to help them financially, I'll be setting up donations for them. Anything from clothing or toys to furniture or dog food. If you would like to donate gift cards, preferably let them be from Wal-Mart as it is the only retailer in their small town. Anything at all you can help with would be so appreciated! We'll be collecting donations at Narrow Way Ministries in Jacksonville, FL and delivering them to the family out of state. If you have items to donate at the church, message me on here or contct the church. If you cannot get your donations to Narrow Way, contact me and I can set up a time to meet you!
I know it's Christmas and I know many people are struggling financially. However, I do know that giving is what Christmas is about. So, I'm asking if anyone could give something! Even the smallest amount would mean the world. Please share this so my cousin and her family can make it through this Christmas and the hard times ahead!
Also if you'd like to purchase something off of their Amazon wishlist for the boys Christmas, please do:
