Jessica Bigelow's Medical Fund
Jessica has a long road of recovery ahead of her. She and Jake will have lots of medical bills and extraneuous expenses along the way. The purpose of this fund is to help curb the out of pocket costs for them. Please help a brother in blue and help Jessica get the care she needs during this trying time.
We are looking forward to Jessica's complete recovery and their return to Casper.
I just wanted to give you all another update. As you know Jessica was admitted to WMC here in Casper. You'll be happy to know she was discharged on Friday and has finally received some answers from her Neurologist.
Her Neurologist said she definitely had two strokes most likely caused caused by undiagnosed Migraines (silent ones with no pain indicators) as well as stress. He told her to take it easy for awhile, which sadly means no driving for a couple of weeks and no work for a month. She is on some medications and was prescribed a good amount of R and R.
When I saw her Friday, she looked very good and was in great spirits. I do think it was driving her crazy that she has been inside so much with limited amounts of activity.
So far she is going well and is glad to be home. Again they express their gratitude for you support!!!
The Bigelow's will be landing in Casper in about 30 minutes. We're so relieved that Jessica was not only discharged from the hospital, but was able to fly home commercially.
Doctors are set up here in Casper so she can follow up now that she's home. She is doing well considering all she's been through. I think it's obvious she is one tough cookie.
We are very thankful she is able to be back in Casper, reunited with her daughter, and gets to spend the holidays in her own bed. And once again thank you all for being there and offering support in anyway you could!
Welcome home Jess and Jake!!!!
I apologize for my tardiness in providing you all with an update. As some of you may have heard, Jessica made it into the U.S on Sunday. Currently, she is at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Doctors are running several tests to not only look for the cause of the stroke, but are hoping to prevent any further problems.
I spoke with Jake on Monday and he said that Doctors are saying Jessica is incredibly lucky. The CT scan indicated that she had a moderate stroke, but she is showing very few deficits. She is able to speak and has good motor functioning. Jessica said her ability to divide attention is the most noticable thing right now. Numbness and tingling are subsiding as well.
Jake and Jessica are hoping to be back in Casper by the weekend. Doctors want her to stay in the hospital a couple more days.
Their spirits are good and both of them extend their gratitude for the overwhelming support you all have shown. It's the holiday season and we know everyone has plans and gifts for their families, which makes your generosity even more incredible.
Thank you again for the huge amount of support and kindness you all have shown the Bigelow family! I will update when I know more.
