Spine Surgery for Jessica
Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Wells. My daughter Jessica was a very active child. She enjoyed dancing from the age of 3, bike riding, playing basketball, camping and hiking. At the age of 13 she started complaining of back pain. We went to many different doctors including Peyton Mannings Childrens Hospital, she under went physical therapy. It wasn't until the summer before her Sophomore year in high school that we discovered a bulging disc in her back causing nerve issues in her leg. This was the first of two surgeries she has had. The second surgery was just 6 weeks after her wedding. Jessica ruptured a second disc when she was working at Arby's 2 months before her wedding, leading to the surgery after. She has been told that if she doesn't get this final surgery through the Laser Spine Institute she will more than likely be in a wheel chair at the age of 40. She and her husband Dillon have moved in with us to care for her disabled father. The surgery cost $100,000. Her insurance is paying for all but $10,000. This is an incredible reality that they are covering 90% of the surgery. However, they require the entire amount to be paid up front. Unfortunately, since my husband was injured and has become disabled we do not have the funds to cover this expense. I am asking for help so that she can lead a normal life. By obtaining normal employment, following her dreams of dancing and becoming a mom someday.
