Although human trafficking is something Jessa Dillow Crisp has experienced, she constantly states that she is much more than the things she has experienced. "My past no longer has the power to hold me captive. I am an overcomer, I am a wife, I am a student, I am a professional, I am a speaker, I am an author, I am leader, I am an agent of change, and I am a confident woman who longs to make a difference in society." Global Citizen

Presently, Jessa is working on her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as a step towards her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.  To get to graduation, she is need of scholarships and financial help.

Not only have she overcome odds and has bravely moved beyond the definition of her past, but she has been able to maintain high academic honors despite many obstacles. Through her degrees, she desires to give back to society and provide professional expertise to non-profits and clinical care to survivors of crime.

Hi, this is Jessa...

I am very grateful to Matan for starting this campaign to help me in school. This touches my heart deeply and often, over the past two months, as the donations and notes have come in, tears have welled up in my eyes. Although I have been deeply hurt and wounded by people, I am also receiving so much love, care, and kindness from people. It's almost like in my pain, I have experienced the worst from humanity and in my raw grief, I have also experienced the deepest kindness. Thank you for helping me see that not everyone wants to hurt me and thank you for helping make my dream possible.

Over the past 6 weeks, my days have been filled with papers, research, and hundreds of pages of reading. I am still in awe that I am working on my M.A. and look forward to each class and learning opportunity. Multiple times I have sat down to write an update and say "thank you," but I have felt completely inadequate to know how to express my heart. Please know that your gift has changed my life. Thank you once again.

It is difficult to even hear the story. The words I say will be weak to soothes your pain I could see in your eyes but I am glad you are able to talk about this unbelievable horror you've been through. The people who should protect you and love you abused you in the most horrific way which is beyond what normal sane person can comprehend. I also feel the whole system failed which is even more worrysome. Just from your story and from what I read the problem is far more widespread then people perceive. I personally feel so much anger and so much disgust to know that innocent children souls are being destroyed, their fragile bodies abused. And I believe that there is a powerful evil protected from the places high in authorities if such things are so widespread and very little is being done. I am for a death penalty. The society needs to be cleaned of such filth. I wish you a beautiful life and may God send you the best of humans and heal your pain.
