Jerome Singleton Childhood Cancer

Jerome Singleton, a candidate to graduate from Scotlandville High School in the current class of ‘2017 was recently diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a childhood cancer. After undergoing 47 chemo treatments, his family received the devastating news that the treatments did not work and the aggressive cancer has now spread throughout his body. Jerome is only 17 years old and unlike most graduates who are setting goals and making plans to fulfill their future life dreams, he’s just hoping to have his dying wish of graduating from high school come true. Hospice has been called in and family and friends are fervently praying as his graduation date is still days away.
As anyone with a heart can imagine, this is definitely considered one life’s not so nice and unexpected curved balls! His family is now rushed to try to find light in this dark situation so that his last days can somehow be good days. And shortly thereafter, they will be thrusted into another battle of dealing with the hole left in their hearts from grief as well as the medical and burial financial burdens.
