Chromebooks for Urban Education

Donation protected
From Sean (the teacher):

I teach in an urban school serving a population of which 70% receive free or reduced lunch. Our students are bright, curious, and diverse from all over the Boston area.  Our school is a small community that is built around music performance and project based learning. Students come to us to gain confidence in their academics by cultivating skills like perservenance, practice, and teamwork through the study of music and orchestral performance. They then practice these skills in academic classrooms that use projects and learning expeditions to bring the learning alive for students.
Our little community is growing, which is great! More students can join our community. The downside is that our new classrooms this year are under provisioned, of which mine is one.
I teach Civics & Government, Geography, and Debate. We have no curriculum, we don't have the money in the budget to buy it. We're supposed to have one Chromebook laptop for every student to use at school, but this is a new classroom, and again, we don't have the money in the budget to buy the Chromebooks.  We also don't have a library or computer lab at our school.
I'm asking you to help me buy Chromebooks for the classroom, not one for every student, but enough for us to have one Chromebook for a pair of students.
This is so important, think of all the things you use your computer or device for everyday. Because of their backgrounds, the school provided computer may be the only computer that many of these students have access to. By helping to provide these Chromebooks to my students you're not only helping with their access to academic material and their opportunity to learn necessary 21st Century Skills, you're also modeling the kind of community support and civic engagement that I'm asking them to become experts at by the end of the year!
We'll publish lots of pictures and provide links to our projects as well as some of their music performances throughout the year via our new laptops to show our appreciation and thankfulness for your generous support!
