Near the end of 2018, 34-year-old Jen Broxterman was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer. In December, she underwent a massive surgery to remove her entire reproductive system, as well as a large piece of her colon and parts of her small intestine large intestine and bladder.

To say this woman—a Registered Dietician and former competitive CrossFit athlete (Canada East individual regionals competitor) and varsity rower—is brave is the understatement of the year. She has been very open and public about her fight, often sharing candid stories that both inspire and leave you in tears. You can follow her story as she continues to battle stage 3 ovarian cancer on IG @nutrition_rx or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/jbroxterman1

Since her surgery, Jen has been off work, as she focuses on her recovery. She has been doing everything she can with all of the self care—diet, exercise (even doing the CrossFit Open), meditation, batch cooking healthy meals, reading, long walks with her dog in nature, spending time with loved ones and friends and traveling when she has the energy—to live as healthy and balanced life as possible. On top of this, she has been finding the time to write articulate, vulnerable, heart-breaking yet heart-warming social media posts to inspire us all, and even sent dozens of thank you cards out in the mail to all of the people who have supported her.

This girl is impossible not to want to help!

She plans to go back to work in her private practice once a week, but right now the most important thing for her is to take care of her health with as little stress as possible. This obviously means financial stress.

Jen is part of a clinical study out of Toronto so travels there for frequent appointments, but again it's also time-consuming and expensive to make frequent trips there.

So anything you can do to help make Jen's life easier will go a long way in helping her return to normal life. As normal as living with ovarian cancer can ever be!

Any donation amount, large or small, makes a big difference in supporting Jen's recovery, and here are some suggested contribution amounts and what exactly the money will be put towards to help Jen beat her stage 3 cancer diagnosis:

$15.25 = 1-week's worth of cancer medication

$30.50 = 2-weeks' worth of cancer medication

$45.75 = 3-weeks' worth of cancer medication

$61.00 = 1 month's worth of cancer medication

$12.00 = parking for 1 appointment at London Health Sciences Centre

$27.00 = parking for 1 appointment at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto

$40.00 = gas to cover driving from London to Toronto for her ovarian cancer clinical trial appointments

Donation amount of your choice to support the cost of a $2000 USD positron esmission tomography (PET) scan in the United States to track her cancer's growth 1x/year (since blood work and CT scans unfortunately can't detect the spread of the kind of ovarian cancer Jen has because of its web-like, disperse growth pattern)

Again, anything you can do to help make this wonderful woman's life a little less financially stressful is much appreciated.
