Jeffery Erickson needs your help! Jeff is a 16 year dedicated member of the Caledonia Fire Department. He coordinates a yearly MDA fundraiser through the fire department, public CPR and fire department open houses. Jeff has several nicknames you might know him by such as "Jack", "Giggles", and "The Concierge". Not only is Jeff a full time firefighter/paramedic, he is a loving dad of three kids: Matthew, Brittany, and Jeremy. He does everything he can to assist someone in need, but now he needs your help.
On July 8th, Jeff was admitted to the hospital after a brief illness and abnormal lab values found in his blood work. Jeff was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Chemotherapy and further testing of his bone marrow and cerebral spinal fluid took place immediately. Jeff remained in the hospital until July 29th where he was able to come home but unfortunately was readmitted to the hospital July 30th due to shortness of breath and severe leg pain. Jeff was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis which kept him in the hospital until August 17th, which he then was finally able to go home to the new house he bought two weeks prior to being diagnosed with Leukemia. Jeff thankfully was able to spend a week with his kids in his new home, but was readmitted into the hospital for more chemotheropy.
Jeff has a long road of treatments ahead of him. His discharge home will only last a week or two, after which he will be readmitted to the hospital for around a weeks stay to complete an aggressive chemotheropy routine which includes 12-24 hour long infusions. Jeff will be receiving these treatments for the next 6-8 months. After which Jeff will have to continue a maintenance dose of chemotherapy for three years. Jeff is strong and everyone is praying he will fight through it!!!!
To help with medical costs such as hospital stays, co-pays, deductibles and treatments not covered by insurance, we are asking for donations from anyone and everyone.
