Jeff has been fighting the effects of a rare brain disease for almost 6 years now. It has been a journey of 2 brain surgeries,  multiple extended hospital stays, more tests than you can imagine, on going strokes and mini strokes.
The 3 hour drive to the doctor takes a lot out of him. 
After 4 years of moderate stability, Jeff started having strokes again. During his recent hospitalization at Henry Ford, brain scans were done that discovered Massive Progression of the Moyamoya. The doctors at Henry Ford  say there is no more surgical intervention that can be done. It is a miracle that he is functioning with such minimal blood supply.

  Our days are filled with prayer, research, taking multiple supplements and declaring that the effects of this disease will leave! Each and every day we get phone calls asking us to set up payment plans for the medical bills.  Most times as I share Jeff's journey the person on the other end of the phone line is in tears and offering up prayers. We know that God will supply our mounting financial needs.

Jeff is  a loving,  kind, honest, faith filled man . He loves his Lord and Savior JESUS, his family and friends. Jeff has a servants heart. He is a giver and this has been a very humbling experience for him. He has so much to offer as a teacher of God's Word.  He has witnessed many miracles over the years.  Please agree with us for him to have a miracle.

In 2011 Jeff was diagnosed with Moyamoya (a rare brain disease) which has caused him to have 10 major strokes and over 384  mini strokes.  He underwent two major brain surgeries in 2011-2012 to increase blood flow to his brain. He was told in 2012 that he would never work a job again and was place on Disability. He has repeatedly asked to be Re-evaluated. He wants to work again. But each time they say he is worse than the time before. This is frustrating because he is only 48 years old.

To date there is no known cause or cure for Moyamoya. Jeff and Rona have declared #TotalRestoration over him since he was diagnosed. They have relied on a God's Word, prayer, a clean diet and supplements to help improve his brain function and restore most of the damage the strokes have caused. This is very expensive. The monthly cost for supplements alone is over $500.  None of these are covered by his medical insurance.

Jeff started Speech therapy on Dec 7, 2017 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. This is an answer to prayer. Each visit has uncovered more deficits and areas of the brain that are damaged. But Faith, the speech therapist is optimistic that Jeff will get new neurons as he exercises his brain.  This helps increase blood supply!!

His appointment on December 12 was loaded with bad news. The surgeon took almost 2 hours to walked thru each scan that had been done over the past 5 years. He used a plastic model of the brain to show where the lack of blood supply was. He pointed out the areas that have grown much worse. He did share one positive observation. Jeff's brain is making collateral vessels in the back that are moving toward the front of his brain where no vessels are detectable.

Dr Malik encouraged Jeff to continue taking supplements and eating a very healthy diet because that seems to be having a positive effect. He referred to nature doing good things.  JEFF serves the living God who created nature! Another opportunity to share the Gospel with the Doctor. He told Jeff to stopy shoveling snow and limit his exercise to just walking lightly.

There is a minimal amount of blood flow to most regions in his brain, yet Jeff has full use of his limbs. The damage is mostly cognitive function, memory, using the right words, sequencing, following directions, organization,  and recall.  Jeff has not let any of this deter his faith for a miracle of total healing!

-Insurance does not cover the most of Jeff's medical treatments.

Jeff needs IV Chelation therapy and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.  They are necessary to remove toxins and help his brain have increased blood flow. These are very expensive and will require Jeff to be away from home for about 6 months. Which adds another expense for accomodations. 
 
-Jeff has over $40,000 in past due medical bills.  His insurance does not cover the treatments he needs the most. 

-He currently needs $340 a month extra just to purchase the additional supplements his doctors are recommending.

-Jeff needs new glasses, He has had drastic visual changes recently. He does not have insurance coverage for vision. $50 has come in so far specifically for that. (Thank You Karla Hawkins!!)

- Dr Natzke recommends testing for Jeff to try to determine the cause of the decreased blood vessels in all regions of  his brain. This includes testing for nutritional deficiencies and toxins.  Since this is not genetic it has to be immunological. Therefore, boosting his immune system will contribute to his healing and restoration.

*Recently, Jeff tested postitive for neurotoxins. There are more extensive, costly,  tests that need to be done. Treatments are expensive, but will add greatly to his quality of life and hopefully, help reverse the damage to his brain.

-The closest hospital that can care for Jeff if anything happens is 4 1/2 hours away.  Money is needed for their travel expenses.

- Funds for Nutritional Supplements Dr. Braverman and Dr Natzke recommend for healing and stability.

- Removal of Jeff's Fillings. He has a mercury toxicity and needs them removed. We recently got an estimate for $4800 to have this done.
