Family House Fire

Monday, January 15th, 2018 my dad and aunts house caught fire in east Nashville and everything they once had was now gone. My 13 year old brother and disabled father made it safely out of the house once it caught fire and realized that they could not put it out themselves after several attempts. My little brother climbed out of the back window of the house and ran to the neighbors for help. My aunt was just getting off of work when all this was happening and when she got home to all the firetrucks, they informed her that my dad and brother were at Vanderbilt having their injuries assessed. My aunt called my sister and I panicking so we rushed down there to figure out what’s going on and we are all still in shock at how bad everything went so quick. We grew up in that house, memories made in that house, baby photos and keepsakes were now just piles of wet debris. Thankfully no one was seriously injured. The only thing they have left are the clothes they had on their back at the time; my mom with only her work uniform, my dad with only his pajama pants and the same for my little brother. Luckily the hospital provided my dad some clothes and shoes and the neighbors gave my brother some when he went to them for help but only a jacket, he didn’t have shoes on when the fire started and no time to grab anything. My family is broken and devastated during this time. My aunt has a lot on her plate to handle right now being the primary caregiver to my disabled dad and taking care of my brother, so my sister and I are trying to raise cash donations along with clothing donations to help them get back on their feet and a new place to stay. Right now as of this moment my dad is still in the hospital due to his low oxygen levels and my aunt and brother are living in a motel until their funds run out. We are trying to raise the money to find my aunt, dad, and brother a 3 bedroom apartment to rent. So the donations will get them into a place and have their rent paid for a little in order for them to get on their feet and for them to purchase necessities such as food and toiletries as well as transportation for my brother to get to and from school and help my father pay for prescription medicines he lost during the fire. Please share or donate what you can because every little bit counts. These people would help any living soul, if you know them; you know just how true this is.  If you have any questions or something you’d like to address privately, my email address is [email redacted] Thank you in advance! We appreciate everything and are so very grateful that you took the time to read and help.  PAYPAL LINK : paypal.me/aburton15
