Ecuador Earthquake #ahoraporcanoa

Donation protected

Ecuador was struck on Saturday, April 16 by a 7.8 magnitude (Richter scale) earthquake which has left over 655 dead and over 12,500 injured. The most affected areas are in the coast, particularly the provinces of Manabí and El Guayas. Prayers and thoughts are not enough, The thousands of men, women and children from  coastal Ecuador need us!

Taking into account the magnitude of this earthquake, the existing programs and philanthropies, and the complexity of our objective, we have decided to center our attention on a small village called Canoa, in the coast of Manabi. We propose to help this village by focusing on rebuilding the infrastructure damaged by the earthquake, which includes schools, houses, and small businesses.
Although the priority now is to support those in need with supplies, medicines, and provisional housing, we want to re-empower the people of Canoa by providing them with the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Currently, we are in touch with trustworthy members in Ecuador, who have joined this campaign to facilitate the process. We are also holding conversations with engineers, companies that sell building materials, and local authorities and missionary groups in Canoa, and we look forward to counting with their cooperation. Not only will we rebuild Canoa, but we will also work in to employ local women and men that have not given up on their future. Let's make Canoa a thriving village and the touristic paradise that it once was, and that with your help will be once again! There is no small donation and every dollar counts.
