Teaching North Korean Refugees
Donation protected
My name is Dylan Wegela, and I have recently started teaching rural students English in South Korea. While I am here I have decided to join one of Korea's NGO's (Non-Governmental Organization).
TNKR (Teach North Korea Refugees)
Is a non-profit that connects volunteer English tutors with North Korean refugees.

Speaking English is very important skill for employees to have in South Korea. This programs aims to help those who need it most, North Korean Refugees.
Since the program is volunteer based I do not get paid. I live in Gwangju which is approximately a 4 hour bus ride from Seoul. This makes my trek 8 hours total. I teach English in an elementary school Monday-Friday. This means that 2-3 weekends a month I will be traveling to Seoul, where I will tutor 3 separate refugees for 90mins to 2 hours. I also will be spending approximately $100 each weekend that I travel to Seoul. I would also like to buy dinner or coffee for the refugees, but money is tight.
TNKR is a great NGO and has had over 200 tutors pass through its program. Many of them have become very successful, after leaving this program.
Please consider donating to this NGO. I want to make a difference in this world, please help me do so!
½ of the money donated with help me with my travel expenses, dinners, and coffee.
½ will be donated to TNKR.
If you cannot donate please share this with your friends!
Thank you so much! :)
