Studying abroad has been something I knew I wanted to do since I was in middle school, probably even before that really—I just didn’t quite realize it yet. Over the past four years I began honing in on the specific place I wanted to go. England had been on my radar from the start and truthfully it did not take long to decide on. As soon as I started going to UNCW I was able to see a few of the presentations and start learning more.
The second week back at UNCW, as an official student this time, I made my appointment with the study abroad offices. I knew London was the place for me and my advisor told me about Roehampton. Roehampton has a beautiful campus and is in the absolute perfect location. Since looking into it more I have learned that it has a wonderful creative writing program and the classes seem incredible. The program lasts from January 11th to June 11th 2017. Though going for that long a big step I feel as though I've already fallen in love with the beauty and intelligence Roehampton has to offer, getting to jump in with both feet is the best thing I could imagine. Spending the spring semester at Roehampton University will be the experience of a lifetime, one that I cannot wait for.
The only thing that could prevent me from going through with this incredible opportunity would be money, not only do I need it to actually get there and keep a roof over my head, but also to get the day to day necessities. It would mean the absolute world to me to get any sort of help, even if it’s only a single dollar, because that means I can live out my dream.
