Dearest friends and colleagues,
I have started this GoFundMe to raise money for our dear friend Jason Margolies’ and his upcoming cancer treatments. This may come as a surprise to some, as it’s been a recent development over the past 4-6 weeks.
Jason is a trusted and beloved friend to so many in the cannabis community and beyond, and first, I thank you for visiting this page.
Many of us have known of Jason’s struggles with Crohn’s disease. In January of this year, he went into a surgery intended to take away much of the pain and suffering associated with Crohn’s. While the surgery went well, they discovered something else -- cancer was found in the colon. A few weeks later and we now know that Jason’s battling Stage 4 colon and lung cancer, which bears additional complications from the underlying Crohns.
Since the most effective treatments are not covered under modern health insurance we have to raise money by all available means so that Jason can access the very best treatments and get rid of this cancer once and for all, and get back to doing what he does best – connecting people, helping others, and closing deals.
Jay is one of the most caring, considerate, willing, hard-working, passionate, cannabis-loving friends I have ever known in my life. He is always willing to lend a hand and help a friend in need! He is a strong example of a compassionate medical cannabis patient and is beloved throughout the industry.
