Jason/Deko memorial in Marie Curtis Park

Thank you everyone - we have achieved our goal in 12 hours - what a wonderful response. Any future funds donated we would share to Mo to help with funeral expenses if you would like to help with that.

Larger than life, passionate about his music, friends, generous of spirit he was one of a kind. He was legend in the Toronto music and club scene and has hundreds of friends from that era. For the last 10 years, he has been a fixture at Lake Promenade and 42nd St. He definitely made Lake Promenade an even more colourful and wonderful place to visit or live. He often said he never wanted to live anywhere else. From his gazebo he would often host his friends and greet the many people that strolled down the street and into the park. Young or old, Jason had a way of making strangers laugh and quickly become his friends.
In talking to Mo and his friends, we feel that Jason would love to have a lasting memorial in the park. To that end we invite you to contribute any amount towards a bench and a plaque. It would be installed and maintained by the City of Toronto. Our goal would be to raise $2530. At minimum we would plant a tree with a plaque for $738 but am optimistic that we could buy the bench and know that Jason would love you to visit and sit for a while. Even better bring your dog if you have one!
