On August 30th, Janice Sly (the mother of Isaac Kelly) was scheduled to appear on behalf of her deceased
son in opposition to a plea bargain struck by Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin. Ms. Sly's flight out of Houston was canceled due to Hurricane Harvey, and we were informed later that she had to be resuced from her home due to extreme flooding. She is now in a shelter.
Her son, who went to check his mailbox outside of his home was shot mutliple times in the back by the apartment's security guard. Isaac Kelly did not survive. After being promised justice for her son the Riverside DA has continously delayed and denied her son due process. Now, they have essentially offered her son's killer community service in exhange for a guilty plea. Ms. Sly is demanding a trial for her son, and refuses to just let her son's killer walk free.
Please help this mother survive the aftermath of Huricanne Harvey so she can fight for her son. We are asking for donatiations towards her living expenses, hotel expenses, and flight expenses so she can get back to California. #blacklivesmatter
