Janelle Dunnaway was trying to enjoy a concert at the Roxy in Denver, Colorodo on 7/21/17, and was violently struck by a fellow concert-goer, which resulted in multiple skull fractures, nasal fractures and the loss of several front teeth. She needs three more reconstructive surgeries over the next six months. The dental work alone will cost $21,049.00. We've updated the campaign to reflect the cost. (Please see the below for the quote from her oral surgeon.)

Please share this campaign with your friends, and donate to support her.

"I spent the entire night in the ER, i still haven't slept. I bled for 12 hours straight, FOUR teeth. I can't close my mouth due to the one tooth that's still there being knocked so far back. And the other one that's there is chipped. They will probably both come out in time. One got lost in the venue. I caught one and they tried to stick it back in but it failed"

"I had my first round of surgery last night, there will be at least 3 more over the next 6 months. My skull is fractured in multiple places, up into my nose. There were pieces of bone scattered all over the place that I had to have drilled out. I had to have new gum tissue and bone grafted in over the entire area. They hammered the two teeth that are still in there into place and splinted them, but they are dead and will have to be removed later. I've never been in more pain in my life. The surgery was the most traumatic experience I've ever been through. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I have some temporary fake teeth so thank god I can at least leave my house now. It's impossible for me to eat with the amount of pain I'm in right now..."

Two teeth missing, #9 and #10 with two surrounding teeth highly mobile and likely to come out:

My name is Kristen and I am a member of Conquer Divide on Artery Recordings. Janelle is our friend and hairstylist for our music videos. I started this campaign to get her the help she needs paying for her surgeries, which will cost $21,049.00.  Her insurance is only covering $1,500 of this, and the rest is out of pocket expenses. All proceeds will go to Janelle Dunnaway to cover these costs.

From Janelle:

"Today is a big day, I finally got the last of my dental work finished. It’s been 11 months, spending every other week at the dentist, with lots of pain and anxiety and general suck. I’ll probably need one more reconstructive surgery and a couple tune ups, but my teeth are FINALLY back to a functioning level. And thank god, because I have so many more things to smile about now than I did back then. I am eternally grateful for all the people who helped me get fixed. Especially Kristen, Kelly, and heritage dental. I never would’ve been able to do this by myself, and honestly, if it wasn’t for all the love and support I received, I absolutely would’ve given up. Not just on fixing my teeth, but on living. I’m so happy I found the strength to keep going. Roughly $20,000, 2 surgeries, 3 implants, 3 root canals and lots of other crap along the way. The scar tissue will always be there, emotionally and physically. But this experience has turned me into the person I am today, and I finally like who that person is. I’m so happy with the progress I’ve made this last year. Every trial is a chance to grow. Even when things seem like they will never get better, they always will. I would never wish this situation on even my worst enemy, but god damn has it changed me for the better. I wish I was better at taking pictures. I had a really hard time looking at my mouth for a long time, so I missed a lot of the interesting parts of the healing/procedures and all that. But here’s what I managed to come up with. Not looking for sympathy, it’s just been an interesting process and I thought I’d share thank you again to every one of you who gave me back my smile "

Hey all! Just a quick update, Janelle is doing great. Thanks to everyone's donations, she was able to get some of her new implants. Thank you again for your donation! It means a lot.

From Janelle:
"I don't like talking about this much, but I figured it's been long enough and since there were so many people who helped me and showed me so much love I'd do a little update post. My bones/gums have almost completely healed, and I have two of the three implants I need, and the three root canals finished. Getting very close to back to normal, just need one more implant and then all my crowns. Thank you all so much for everything you did to help me. I'm so lucky to have the support system that I have ❤️

We continue to be overwhelmed with the outpouring of support for Janelle.
When I started this campaign, I had no idea it would gain any traction, so I started it out low.
The fact is, she will need up to four implants plus reconstructive surgery to hold them in. Each implant can run up to 3,000. The estimated total cost will be in the neighborhood of 12,000-15,000.

We are actively working to get an estimate from her oral surgeon for all of the upcoming surgeries, and will update the campaign to reflect the actual cost.

Janelle is humbled and can't thank everyone enough for their ongoing support.
