Jana Weaver Miles-Burnett Memorial

$6,328 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 218 people in 31 months
Any contribution large or small will be used to help pay the expensive cost of memorial and funeral arrangements for Jana Weaver Miles-Burnett.
Jana was taken from us in a tragic motorcycle accident on Saturday evening 11-7-2015.
Her beautiful soul is survived by her two children 22 yr old Sara Elizabeth Smillie and 14 yr old Cody Allen Miles.
40 years young, Jana brought smiles and laughter to everybody she met and she deserves nothing but the best memorial that we can give the surviving family.

One of the happiest days of her life was the night she was taken from us. She shared this night with her children and the love of her life, William Burnett. Jana is also survived by her groom, her husband, part of her foundation.  William is and always will be a part of our family especially while we all rely on each other to pull through these troubled times.

ANY donation large or small will be a blessing to help pay funeral costs in this tragic time.
I also ask that you say a small prayer for the family to help them through this struggle while putting their loving mother to rest.

My name is Khole Smillie.  Jana was my mother-in-law,  a true inspiration, and a loving soul.  She accepted me into her family with open arms and constant giggling and laughter. In my two years of being a part of their family, not once did I witness Jana in a bad mood!

Its taken all of my strength to support my wife Sara and my little brother in law Cody. No one should ever have to go through the tragic loss of their mother in such a way.

I felt like one small token of love I could show to the family in return for what they have shown me  is to create this gofundme account.  This account and all donations will go directly into paying for the funeral at Hobbs Johnson Funeral Home in Benton, IL.

offline donations can also be dropped off at Central Dispatch in Christopher, Illinois - 218 west market street.

wsil TV , St Louis post, Z100, and the Southern Illinoisan newspaper has done so much to help as well.

It warms my heart that so many people have com and come forward to pray, give respects, and assist in paying for sending Jana home with all the beautiful wishes she deserves.

Thank you and God bless

Just wanted to share that we have taken the time to share a little more information about our family, and the survived husband William. William has had an especially troubling time coping with the loss and we needed a little time to pass before presenting too much information which might cause more pain for the family at such a soon time. Thank you for your understanding and please keep praying.

A special thank you to all the people who have said so many prayers for Sara, Cody, William, and the rest of our family.

As suggested , here is a YouTube link of her story. Please take just a few moments out of your day to watch what a great job the news reporters have done in giving this family the respect they deserve for their tragic loss.

Thank you again and keep them in your hearts and prayers!

To a wonderful person and mother, Rest in Peace Jana Lynn.

A very special thank you to everyone who paid their respects to the family during these sad times.

We are going to leave the gofundme account open throughout the next few weeks due to the vast spread of Jana and Williams story over the entire world ( no exaggeration).

This will give all the people from anywhere plenty of time to help Sara and Cody cover the expenses to put their mother to rest.

I didn't read where she was survived by her brand new husband. Shame he was left out because i'm sure he is suffering as much as the children. God bless this entire family to get thru this awful tragedy!

This is such a tragic accident,I can't even imagine what her new husband and children must be going through. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends.Lean on God ,He is the only way you will have true comfort and peace in your heart and mind.I noticed the husbands name is not among the survivors and am curious as alot of people are,to know why.I'm sure he must be grieving the death of his new beautiful bride.God allows things to happen for a reason and we may never know here on earth but I believe something good will come out of this tragedy .Praying for you all,God Bless!!!!

Too precious of a soul and heart to be taken so young while starting a new chapter in her life. What turned out to be her perfect day ended in a tragedy no one should suffer. I do have to ask also, Why is the husband not mentioned in this story, or comments at all? Not in support of him at all and good lord how he must be feeling, pain, heart ache, remorse, guilt, the loss of his love, just everything that must be going through his heart and mind. Hitting a deer is an accident and they were probably talking, having a good time, and not paying as much attention as they should have. I also, being a long time rider know to slow down in areas where they might be any kind of animals crossing the road, even a deer, basically any rural areas, forests, mountains. But then I was never married and took a glorious ride on the back to the reception either ♥ Awesome.! My thoughts also go out to her few hours old husband, and prayers for his new family. He still married his brides daughter and son also and they are his step children and I hope they keep the wonderful relationship they have had all along.

I didn't get to know any of you. But from what I see here of Jana, I'm sure her children Sara and Cody are such loving and strong people, that goodness and blessings will come to them. Wishing you much comfort and strength.
