"Mad To Live" RIP JAMES HART
*Please note that all proceeds are going directly to the Hart family. This page was set up by his best friends at Arizona State. Thank you so much for your contributions.
They say that the friends you make in college are the friends you have for life. At this moment those words couldn't ring more true. Although we have lost our amazing friend Jimmy, his jounrey and story will forever live in our heart's. His love and passion for life was infectious and truly inspiring. He was an uplifitng soul who lived life to the absolute fullest while inspiring many people along his journey.
As many of you may know by now, our friend Jimmy Hart passed away suddenly in Cambodia while backpacking with his great friend Derek. The Hart family wants to express their sincere gratitude for everything that was said about Jimmy and everything that was done for the family thus far.
"Jimmy was living his dream. He was exploring new countries, visiting historic temples, meeting wonderful people, and helping those in need in countries all around the world. Each country brought new areas to explore, each river and stream brought new places to cool off and each hill brought new scenic views to admire and reflect upon. As Jimmy planned this trip so precisely and everything was going extremely well, no one could have expected this sad outcome." - Ray Miller (Father of Derek who accompanied Jim on his trip)
With the shock of such an event comes the reality that faces the Hart family at this time. The efforts in getting Jimmy back to the states and to his family have been challenging to say the least but the costs associated with everything that has taken place and has yet to be accomplished is going to be significant. As a result, we are hoping to fund enough money for the Harts during this trying time and defray some of the mounting costs in returning Jimmy to his family, his home, and to his final resting place.
Jimmy was very passionate about writing and seeing the truth in life. His blog is so inspirtational and portrays his wonderful life every step of the way. http://ifiweregoing.com/
Please help us get Jimmy back home. Your donation means everything. Thank you all so much!
"I promise I shall never give up, & that I'll die yelling & laughing."
- James Hart
Jim has started his trip home, he and his backpack are now in the possession of the US Embassy courier, on the way to Phnom Penh. Any funds exceeding the actual costs will be used for a scholarship program at Clearview Region Area High School in his name. Now we will always have something to remember him by. Thank you all so much for partaking in this fundraising for such an amazing soul. We miss you dearly Jimmy. God Bless

Good news. Jim's ashes are being shipped back home to Jersey via The US Embassy. His cremation ceremony took place in Cambodia with Derek, which is what he meant when saying "Off into the wind he went, to explore all this beautiful limitless world has to offer" Jim's service date should be announced upon arrival. Jim's brother Don will be keeping us all informed. Thank you all so much for your continuous support on this. RIP James Hart
His great friend and travel partner Derek Miller had this to say:
"I want to thank everyone who has reached out to myself and/or Jims family. The overflow of messages and well wishes has been nothing short of tremendous. I am unfortunate to say that I just attended a celebration of life for my dear friend, which included an amazing blessing and chants by monks. It was truly one of the most impressive ceremonies that I have ever witnessed! It would have been exactly what he would have wanted. Being immersed in the culture, "being a local" as we would say. School children from the school next door also attended and paid their respects, which was some of our favorite parts of our journey; waving at and playing games with the school children along our route. So it was a perfect fitting. I would like to thank those with me today whom attended. The 4 of you know who you are, an I'll never forget it! That was then followed by the cremation of my best pal. Off into the wind he went, to explore all this beautiful limitless world has to offer! I'll catch up to ya some day mate! I love ya buddy. I miss you dearly! Follow your dreams! Never give up, seize the moment, be Mad To Live!"
