I waited until the last minute to avoid this, but I need your help again. As you may recall I lost my right leg a few years ago. I finally got back to San Diego and got a place to live. I had a great roommate to help split the rent. But now my roommate has left for a job up north and I cannot afford my apartment on my own. I have until the third week of May to get into a new place.

My problem is I am unemployed and no luck so far getting a job. I live on a fixed income with  disability. It pays just enough to afford a really inexpensive place to live. When I am working, I can afford a better place but I right now I don't have a lot of options. I have to find a place that is handicapped accessible which also limits my options.

All my money goes to bills right now so I have nothing to get a place with. When I get my next disability payment on the 3rd, it will go to my last months rent.

So I really need help getting the funds to get into a new place I can afford. Options are limited but I am looking. But once I find a place I need to be able to pay the first month and a deposit. I also need help moving. Fortunately, I don't have a lot of stuff here but I can't do it myself anymore.

Anything you can do to help me will be appreciated, I am running out of time. In reality I have less than three weeks and the clock is ticking. I was hoping to be able to do this myself but I have run out of options.

The goal is based on the cost of rent around here in my range and moving expense money.

If you live in San Diego and want to help me move that would also be helpful.

Thank you.

I moved into my new place today. I still have some odds and ends at the old place but for now I am happy to sleep under this new roof and thankfully I am in a quiet area now with no sirens going by or people clomping around above me. The old complex was kind of noisy. Loud people going down the hallway and parties and so on, I found a place near the hills of Escondido that;'s more spread out and quiet so I can focus on my work better. I plan on getting back to it.

Thanks again to everyone who helped. Matt and Mikey Cossin helped me move today. They are great local artists who I am also working on a project with.

If you want to keep chipping in, I will appreciate it. Moving cost more than I thought.

Now for some rest!

I moved a lot of stuff today all by myself in my wheelchair. Everything I could fit in my car. So my kitchen stuff is almost all moved. All my linen, towels and clothes, my TV, dvd players, laptop and assorted boxes. All in the last two days. Tomorrow, I do the furniture and anything else I have left. Huzzah!

Good news. I found a great place is Escondido which is in northern San Diego County. It's a nice small town and it has everything I need. It's near San Marcos and Rancho Bernardo.

I start moving my stuff this week. It's a huge relief to have the house hunting thing over with. It was stressful but this place made it easy for me.

Thank you, everyone, who chipped in. I would have been in dire straights without you.

If you want to help a little more I could always use it as it. I only have bedroom furniture and my desk. No chairs or anything for guests who might come by. And I could use some new supplies like food and some kitchen stuff for my new place. I have the basics, and can get by but I could use a few more things.

But the hard part is over. I have friends who said they'll help me move. And you friends have helped me find shelter. Thank you again!

The goal has been made. It took less than a week and once again, I am overwhelmed by the support in our community. Let it not be said that comics fans and pros don't care. You're all wonderful.

Of course, if you anyone wants to chip in a little more I can always use it. But this at least makes it possible for me to get a new roof over my head. Thanks a bunch, everyone!
