This summer my daughter was in a summer camp at Canada Olympic Park here in Calgary. One day when I picked her up we watched tourists go down the bobsled track.
It reminded me of 1988, when the Jamaican Team made their debut here - I told her the story and we watched the movie together. She loved it! Such a feel good story.
Well - the Jamaicans are back in Calgary and they need our help! After their van broke down Driving Force was kind enough to provide them with one, so the purpose of this GoFundMe was changed from finding them transportation to general funding of their World Cup activities.
Right now the team is in Whistler, then they will move onto Park City Utah for another event & training, and they are expected back in Calgary early in December.
With any luck, Calgary will be bidding for the Olympics again soon - but the spirit of 88 is still strong and I know we can help them out!
