WHO ARE YOU?
I'm JoWhimsy, a self-taught Cartoonist & 2D Animator from Jamaica. I have recently been accepted to Capilano University (one of the Top 5 schools) in Vancouver, BC, Canada to study for a 2-Year Diploma in 2D Animation & Visual Development!

WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Having previously made my deposit of $5,000.00 CAD which secured my seat in the program and allowed me to receive my official letter of acceptance, I am now challenged to raise the remaining CAD$8,453.26.00 required by AUGUST 19, 2019 (DEADLINE) to cover the 5 courses I'll be taking in TERM 1 of Year of the program. I am therefore seeking donations, sponsor(s), grant or a scholarship to assist with costs associated with tuition and books/ supplies during my studies.
WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
Successful completion of a diploma in 2D Animation & Visual Development would furnish me with the skills to; function both professionally and independently at a higher and more competitive level, gain direct experience with internationally renowned studios in Vancouver and create animation-related products, services and edutainment-based cartoon short films, web-series and games through my brand/start-up business by utilizing the resources available overseas for kids and teens in the Caribbean.
WHAT'S BEEN COVERED SO FAR?
So far I have received support from individuals who have offered to cover my airfare, and visa application process. On my part I intend to support myself for the duration of my studies by accepting commissions and working remotely with clients in Jamaica that should help to cover my other living expenses (i.e. food, rent, etc.).
AWARDS/ACHIEVEMENTS:
I am also a past winner, full scholarship recipient and volunteer at Jamaica's first KingstOOn Animation Festival & Conference held in both 2013 for "Raising Jase" & 2nd Place Best Character Design (Article here: http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/-Raising-Jase-_53371) and 2016 for "FIWI-KIDS" 2nd Place Best Concept.
