Jake is Donating His Long Hair
Hi, my name is Jake Bafford I am 11 years old. I live in San Antonio, TX and am getting ready to start 6th grade. I decided I wanted to grow my hair out almost 3 years ago. A year or so later my hair was pretty long and my parents started to discuss when we would cut it. I really wanted to keep growing it because I thought it was cool. At about the 2 year point my hair was getting really long and the pressure was on to cut it off. At this point I talked to my parents about donating my long hair to a child that could not grow hair like me. My dad looked into many charities and found that there were a lot of bad stories about these charities. After more research we found out that most of the stories were not true. What is true is that there are a lot of little kids with Cancer, Aloepecia, and other diseases that have no hair and with they could have hair like mine. We found out that if we follow all of the rules that my hair could be turned into a beautiful wig for a child in need. We also learned that it costs $1800.00 to make one of these wigs so I decided that I would ask people like you to help me. I want to donate my hair and the money that it takes to make a wig for a child. I am a boy and I can't imagine what I would do if I had no hair, so if there is a little girl out there that would love to have a long blonde wig to help her feel pretty, I want it to be from me.
I promised my parents that I would cut my hair before school starts in August so the goal is to donate this money and my hair by August 15th.
The Diesel Barber Shop in Alamo Ranch is donating the hair cut and funds toward my goal, and my parents are helping too. I would love it if you would help me to help a little girl that is struggling with a disease to feel beautiful.
Thank you in advance,
Jake Bafford
