Jake’s Cancer Fight

Donation protected
UPDATE 12/19/17:  We are out of options for Jake.  Emergency surgery occurred again last Thursday, and the doctors can no longer help due to the aggressiveness of the cancer. His Oncologist told us that there's no way of accurately estimating how much time we have left with Jake, but based on his experience he thinks we might have days to weeks.  We have researched all options with Jake's participation, and at this time, Jake will be going into palliative care at the Hospital. It's a unit that's set up to provide him with comfort care and is frequently a stage that comes before hospice.  It was a very difficult message to deliver to him, his wife, and two children, Gavin and Emma.  This Christmas will be the last Christmas together.   PLEASE, even if you cannot help by donating, SHARE this campaign.

12/10/17 - Our brother-in-law, Jake Schipper, was diagnosed with liposarcoma cancer last year. He had a tumor removed from his leg, and fought hard to get through recovery and nasty chemotherapy.  It was a rough time for Jake and his family that they thought they were done and over with. This past fall, Jake began experiencing back pains and then around Halloween, he thought he had the flu. Unfortunately, these issues ended up being symptoms of his cancer returning. The doctors discovered new cancer activity on his thigh and lungs, and two tumors on his spine. He’s been in and out of the hospital working through diagnosis and complications.

The morning of December 2, he started to lose feeling in his stomach and his legs. He was rushed to the hospital and the doctors discovered a new tumor that was pressing on his spine. He underwent emergency surgery that night to remove three tumors from his spine. He's been in recovery since then. He's fighting hard every day to recover and regain his strength.   UPDATE: another emergency surgery was performed to attempt to 'clean up' his spine - the prognosis is not good.  His spine is filled with cancer.

Jake and his family hadn't yet recovered from the financial strain of the first fight with cancer before this new fight presented itself.

If you are able, please stand up for Jake and his family.  Jake and Nicole have been married for 8 years, and they have two young children, Gavin and Emma.

Gavin and Emma now understand that their daddy is not going to be around for much longer.

Nicole and family have many bills that the insurance doesn't cover - Gavin and Emma's near future, as well as Nicole's, is going to be extremely difficult and stressful.  Anything to help them...well, will help them.

We sincerely appreciate any help that can be given and we hope you keep Jake, Nicole, Gavin and Emma, and the rest of the families, in your thoughts and prayers.

They need to be supported to restructure their lives - to handle current medical debt and to in general relieve the financial stress of this transition so they can focus on healing.

We know you are spending for the holidays and this time of year, things might be tight.... we appreciate anything, even words of consolation.    If you can't send money, please SHARE THIS, and send your love.

Peace to you all.
