In Memory of Jahliek Dieudonne

My name is Laurie Scursso, and I have been a math teacher at West Side Middle School in Waterbury, Connecticut for 25 years.  As an educator in an inner city middle school, I have had my fair share of students who have touched my life, but none as deeply as Jahliek Dieudonne. Jahliek was one of a kind--his charming smile and sparkling wit made people take notice. Although he could be a handful at times, it was difficult to be angry with him for very long!
Tragically, Jahliek was shot and killed on Saturday, November 5th.  He was only 17 years old. As his family grieves and prepares for his funeral and burial, I am asking for financial support to aid in this endeavor. Funeral expenses are astronomical and will put a serious financial burden on the family. Money raised will help defray the costs of his services. It would be a great comfort to provide this assistance for his family so that they will not have an additional burden at this most difficult time.
