Jade McCann is a 22 year old girl from Co. Wicklow and is currently fighting incurable stage IV leiomyosarcoma cancer. Leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare cancer and due to its unpredictable nature, there is very little known about it and no cure. Jade plans to challenge this by seeking treatment abroad and fighting back in the hopes that, although it may not be curable, it can be treated and a comfortable standard of living maintained for as long as possible. We are currently seeking second opinions abroad.
Jade’s Dad is also fighting stage IV cancer so the income levels within the household are extremely low. This page has been set up with the hopes of helping fund Jade’s potential treatment abroad but also to help with hospital fees, transport and other support services- wherever in the world that may be.
The aim of the treatment plan, although undecided yet, is to keep Jade as well as we can for as long as we can.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pop on and remind everyone how grateful we are for the support.
In particular, a huge thank you to the three Biker clubs that came together to pull off an amazing fundraiser for Jade's further treatment at the end of October. A huge thank you to Pat and Alex for their help and kindness!

You may have noticed that we changed Jade's diagnosis to Pecoma. London retested her tumour and found that it was not LMS as first thought. This doesn't change very much with regard to the prognosis. However, it does open up avenues for other drugs that may stabilise Jade's cancer.

At the moment, Jade is on Sirolimus. This drug may work in stabilising Jade but it also may not. That's why it is so important for us to keep fundraising and researching further treatments and options.

At the time, we didn't think London had any positive outcomes. But following the pathology and new information, we'd especially love to extend our thanks to everyone who donated and made that trip possible. It gave us much hope.

Kind regards,
Kim xx

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pop on and thank anyone and everyone who up until now has shown support. In particular though, Martha O' Byrne and Sharon Felton who pulled off an amazing fundraiser for Jade on Friday last.

The night turned out to be a really positive get together and the donation total exceeded all expectations. We are blown away and we can't thank everyone enough for their generosity and support.

As far as London went, we didn't exactly get the news we wanted but we are still not giving up hope. We have other treatment options in consideration and continue to support Jade as much as we can.

You may have noticed there is a second GoFundMe link on this account. 'Biking It For Jade' is a fundraising event that has been set up by Biker groups around Ireland to raise awareness and more funds for Jade's situation. If you are local, we hope to see some of you there! You can find all details here: www.gofundme.com/biking-for-jade

Thanks again to each and every one of you. You will never know how much your support means to our family.

Kim xx

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to pop on here on behalf of jade and her family to give you an exciting update!!!

Jade now has a confirmed appointment in LONDON on Tuesday with a specialist team, who they have been liaising with for sometime. They have been reviewing all Jade's scan and other medical documentation and are now wanting to meet with her next week to discuss everything further.

The family are incredibly grateful for every single person who has taken the time to share her go fund me page because without every single donation treatment abroad wouldn't even be possible. I thank you again for giving her a chance to seek treatment else where and hopefully this meeting will be the start of getting jade the treatment she so deserving needs

Hi everyone, just wanting to update to keep you all in the loop. You may have notice that I have assigned Kim McCann (Jade’s Mum) as beneficiary of this account. We thought it best that her Mum is on hand to deal with all the finances as she will be the person organizing travel arrangements and also be traveling alongside jade when treatment is organized but not only that if jade does become too unwell her mum will still have access to withdraw to keep fighting her fight with her all the way. Thank you once again for all the support that has been shown towards these guys
