Jack was in a serious snow boarding accident on February 16 2019 smashing his C5 vertebrae and was paralyzed from the neck down. He has survived surgery and was in ICU in recovery just over a week and has begun rehabilitation at Benefis in Great Falls and arrived by mercy flight March 5th, 2019 at University of Utah Inpatient Rehabilitation Center Rm 2644 50 North Medical Drive SLC UT 84132

After the rough beginnings, we
are very happy to share Jack has already made some amazing progress since his surgery, being first time up just 5 days after the accident! His resilience and progress far exceeds expectations. But there is still so much to do... The cost to rehabilitate will be massive and we would kindly ask you for help.

Jack’s life has been very active so far. Mutton Busting, ranching in Montana, snowboarding and taking photos abroad were all part of his life. He has so much potential and passion for life. He is also a very warm person with contagious smile always ready to help. He showed himself as loving son, great friend and helpful neighbour to our community. Being around him just makes you a better person, because he always sees people as nice and kind. His story to discover the world has just begun. That’s why it is so important to help him right now, so he can go on to experience life.

We would love to have you as part of our community to support Jack in those difficult times. Please keep Jack in your warm prayers, share the story and donate if you can. Every dollar counts. Together we can change what happened! Just one act of kindness from you side means the world to Jack and us. We also warmly invite you to check our daily updates as we share Jack’ progress and photos.

The cost to rehabilitate will be great but we know Jack can get through this with a little help from his friends. Please donate if you can and keep him lifted up in prayer for this journey has just begun. We will update as we know more.

Jack’s mom Jaelene has been by his side since the accident. His brother Wil returned home from New Zealand to help care for Jack on this incredible journey.

Jack has been working with Matt (known by the Neuroworx crew as "Carter") whose own spinal cord injury (SCI) led him to change his Major course of study, to work with those in rehabilitation situations.
Now Matt helps others like Jack. Today they worked on rolling, a skill Jack will need to continue improving his ability to control his roll-over moves with less assistance.
They also worked on using the arm/wrist bands, another technique to build up Jack's arm strength and abilities.

Jack Racicot has not just been sitting around smelling the flowers. He got strapped into the Bioness Vector machine then hit his workout with GUSTO today!

He stood up, worked on busting a couple dance moves, and even dropped down to crush out a few push ups -- much more than many of us have tried to do today.

!!!GO JACK GO!!!

With your prayers and support for Jack, why not believe it can happen?

Thanks for your continued prayers and support for Jack. May 15th has arrived, and our plan is to have the University of Utah Hospital Rehabilitation team transport Jack to his apartment just south of Salt Lake City, in Sandy Utah. Jack and Wil have already been practicing loading and unloading from the Blue Line and Red Line buses, and planning how to get to rehabilitation appointments at Neuroworx on time.

Please keep your cards and letters for Jack coming, but use this new address:
