Jackie Farmer's Home Repairs
Donation protected
This campaign is to raise money for a friend of mine, Jackie Farmer, to help pay for some much needed home repairs that she cannot afford. The circuit breaker box inside her home needs to be updated, she needs a pipe to be routed to the outside of her home, and she also needs the electrical wires that lead from the main pole outside to her house to be replaced. Now some of you may think that this sould be a NIPSCO problem but NIPSCO refuses to repair this wire. They told Jackie it is her responsibility to do this. She is on a very limited income. Jackie's husband Steve died 14 years ago. He had been employed at LTV Steel and as many of you know, those men lost their pension. She is living on social security alone. She is disabled with spinal stenosis and arthritis invading her entire body. There are days she can hardly move, but she makes herself get up and do things around the house so that she doesn't get worse. She has no family in the area and her husband's family disowned her after Steve died. Jackie went to Gavit and some of her classmates have helped her raise some money to help pay for the repair bill. There is still a balance due and this is why we are developing a GoFundMe page for her. Please donate. If the repairs can't be done soon, she will have to go without heat this winter. She has called several agencies in the area for help and there are no funds available anywhere. Please dig deep. Any donation will help.
