Chicken project for school in Kenya
Tumaini Volunteers Inc. is a non profit organization that assists developing communities in Kenya become more self sufficent through providing sustaining projects.
This spring we will be expanding the production of chickens at a school, Southern Cross Academy,
in the SIDP Camp in the town of Mahi Mahu, just outside of Nairobi.
The completion of this project will provide all of the children at the school access to a reliable food source, and excess eggs will be sold to the local community. Profits will be used to give the teachers at the school a steady income and ensure the students have enough school supplies.
The donations will cover the cost of the incubator that will hold over 1,000 eggs, materials to expand the pen and build more coops for the chickens, and start up materials such as fertilizer, chickens, and eggs. Funds will also cover the cost of one of our board members to travel to Kenya with the volunteers and a camera man to film a documentry for the organization.
Thank you for your support!
