Jordan's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Jordan is a happily married man and the father of two young boys.  He is a combat proven Marine who served with distinction as a corporal with the “First Marine Division, Fifth Marine Regiment, First Combat Engineer Battalion, Support Company, Motor Transport Platoon,” serving two deployments in Iraq.  Jordan is also an active volunteer with the local chapter of Operation Care and Comfort (OCC) supporting the military, veterans and their families.

On Saturday, January 23rd, Jordan was seriously injured in a head-on collision while traveling on Highway 84 near Livermore, California.  Jordan was driving a U-Haul truck transporting parts of a playhouse his father-in-law just finished building for his two boys.  The force of the impact smashed the front end of the U-Haul truck throwing it onto its side, trapping him inside the vehicle.  The "Jaws of Life," were used to rescue him from the vehicle.

Jordan was transported to a hospital trauma center by helicopter where he remains in intensive care.  He was subjected to six hours of emergency surgery to correct internal bleeding, four broken ribs, and a broken femur.  He remains with several more broken ribs, a damaged lung, and a bruised heart.

Jordan is in stable, but in critical condition. The doctors are keeping him sedated to control pain and allow him time to heal. Endotracheal intubation is helping Jordan breathe and a nasogastric feeding tube is taking care of his nutritional needs.

Jordan has a long road of rehabilitation where he will be forced to endure difficult and painful physical therapy.  His family is facing the prospect of significant financial challenges as Jordan may be unable to work for several months.  Additionally, his wife is using all of her sick leave to be with her husband at this critical time, and will be losing pay for any additional days she will have to take off to be with him. The medical bills and other expenses will also be daunting.

We are asking for your support to help Jordan and his family meet those financial challenges.
