Emergency

We rescued our fur baby Pepper in 2013 when he was 8 years old, and have loved and spoiled him ever since. A little over a year ago, we were told that he had tumors in his testicles. We were able to get him neutered, he recovered well, and the vets told us the probability of it coming back in the future was extremely low.

However, about a week ago, Pepper began bleeding from his penis. When we took him to the pet hospital, they told us that his prostate was painfully swollen; his prostate was squeezing his urethra and causing the bloody urine. After looking him over, they narrowed it down to either a prostate infection or cancer. We gave what we could at that time to get some of the recommended treatment for infection, and had to keep him in diapers to try to save the carpet from further staining. The bleeding stopped and Pepper seemed to be okay.

However, yesterday the bleeding started again. The pet hospital wants to give him a full course of treatment this time, but is recommending he get an X-ray and urinalysis to confirm he doesn’t have prostate cancer.
Because my husband and I just got married, and are catching up on other bills, we don’t have the funds immediately available to be able to get him tested, and get medicine to treat the possible infection and keep his pain down. We love Pepper so much and do not want to put him down. If this is just an infection, which the vets are leaning more toward, he can still live his life to the fullest with us. We just need a little bit of help at this time. Anything at all that can be given is very much appreciated. Thank you.
