Help Mark Gomez fly back to LA
Donation protected
I've never done a GoFundMe before, but this is for Mark Gomez. I'm posting his story below for you to read. He got burned by a "fellow" jetskier in our community and that really hurts. He flew last minute from LAX to Daytona to get his ski back from someone who was supposed to pay him for it, but never did. Thanks to the Daytona riding crew of the "surf sluts" for helping Mark while he was on the east coast.
Mark is probably the most positive person I know and is arguably the best representaive in our sport, so I really want us to team up and help him out.
This GoFundMe is to cover all of Marks travel costs due to this ordeal. Here's Mark's story:
"Unfortunately realized a lesson that not everyone is able to be trusted. Even the ones that seem to be nice and went out of their way to help at an event. After the Daytona Freeride, Mark Didario agreed to purchase my 2015 Rickter EDGE Hull with a bunch of components. I parted out my running ski in the parking lot of the shop he helped us ship our things in and out of. We finished packing on a bank holiday so I trustingly loaded my hull into his trailer to arrange payment the following day before I left. I woke up late and was unable to meet with him in time for a cash exchange. I gave him information for a bank wire transfer which he said he was getting underway immediately. That did not go through, days later a paypal e check was sent after that.. 5 days later it failed, phone call communication stopped since he wouldn't ever call me back at that point. I was strung along by periodical text messages and attempts at bank transfers. Never could provide bank or branch manager Information such as a simple photo of a business card when he was in the bank supposedly.
Reaching out for help Nicholas Foederer and the Daytona riding crew of "surf sluts" all pitched in information to help me fish out the lies, realize that he has been fired from his job, kicked out of his house and tracked down where his trailer was located. I felt it was necessary to back my friends up, so I caught last minute a red eye flight to Daytona Beach from LAX. I showed up this afternoon with the help of Nick and my friends to physically reclaim my hull from the trailer that had not been paid for. We successfully got my ski back. I have rented a car and am now taking it to a shop to be kept safe for resale so I can buy a flight back home and continue on with my season.
This was a hit for me financially but I am incredibly thankful for the support of the local Florida crew to help me get my ski back before it possibly disappeared forever.
I never want to be the one to say anything negative about anyone. However coming to find out how many other people Mark Didario has conned/done wrong in a very similar fashion leaves me no choice.
Do not do any business with Mark Didario.
Again really thankful for my local friends who helped pursue what was right, I could not have done this alone without their help."
