Christian Education in Liberia

Donation protected

Dear Friends,

I am Juan Restrepo, vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Africa International Christian Mission, Inc. (AICM) with headquarters in Boynton Beach, Florida. During our board meeting on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, the board resolved to help Dr. Liberty raise the needed funds to launch the Africa Christian University (ACU) in Liberia, West Africa.  We seek  your prayers and one-time donation of $1.00, $2.00, or any amount as the Lord leads, for this worthy project. In appreciation for your one-time gift to the university, you will receive an e-book of Dr. Liberty’s new book entitled: A Godly Leader on Trial: A Fresh Look at Nehemiah directly from him.

Dr. R. Zarwulugbo Liberty and his wife, Esther came to the United States in 2000 from Liberia to serve as missionaries. Prior to their coming, they founded an African independent church named, Church of the Believers, Inc. They planted nineteen churches in Liberia, established the Liberty Theological Seminary, the Fellowship of Christian Churches of Africa International, and a Christian high school. With the blessing of God upon them, Dr.  Liberty’s heart desire was to train men and women to serve as missionaries at home and abroad. His zeal for missions resulted in the formation of the seminary. His plan to train and send out missionaries was excellent, but God decided to make him and his wife the first missionaries to be trained for the call of God upon their lives.

According to one of his books, A Journey of Faith: A Call to Missions Without a Purse. Dr. Liberty wrote that in 1985, during one of their denomination’s regular twenty-one-day prayer meeting (fasting and praying) held yearly in September, God revealed to Brother Musa Kargbo to inform the couple that He would send them to a foreign country to be trained for the work He has called them to do. This message was reaffirmed in 1998 through Pastor Patrick Chea, who was then one of his students at the Liberty Theological Seminary. In April 1999, while Dr. Liberty was home alone taking a bath, the Lord spoke to his heart about the same calling for him to be sent to a foreign land. Not only was this  confirmation to him alone,  Esther too had received the same confirmation while participating in a prayer meeting at the Faith Holy Mountain of Jesus Christ Church in Monrovia.  Esther went home at 4:30pm. When Dr. Liberty got home at 5:30pm, they without delay shared with each other God’s plan for their lives. They prayed and thanked God for His will for them.

Dr. Liberty shared this with the leadership of the Church of the Believers. The leaders praised God for what He has in store for them. Most of them remembered the Word of the Lord through Brother Musa Kargbo during the 1985 prayer meeting. Everyone started praying for them to obey. It is difficult to leave the known for the unknown, but through the power of God, they obeyed and came on the  mission field in 2000. A series of miracles began to unfold: After two months, they registered the mission in Florida. Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach donated an office space to their mission that they used for five years. As Dr. Liberty and his wife, Esther prayed for a rent-free  apartment to be donated to them, they were mocked by the family that hosted them. But God answered their prayers, and one Steve Martini donated an apartment  to them that they used for four years.

As the mission’s operation gained root in America, many people had doubts about their work in Africa. God touched the heart of one of the board members Joseph Massey, and he went to verify the authenticity of their ministries in Liberia. Joe returned with an excellent report. Joseph Massey and Dr. Liberty were interviewed by Channel 5 News in Boynton Beach, Florida about the work in Boynton Beach and Africa.

In fulfilling His promise to Dr. Liberty, God touched the scholarship department of Knox Theological Seminary, and the committee awarded him  70 percent scholarship for his Master of Divinity, and 50 percent for his Doctor of Ministry. He has published three books and had written many insightful articles.

For over fourteen years of operation in this county, Dr. Liberty and Esther have been preaching, teaching, mentoring younger pastors, and operating a food pantry in Boynton Beach, Florida, helping over 8,000-10,000 needy people yearly with the Word of God, gathering food and other staples of life weekly. In partnership with some prominent Christians and scholars, Dr. Liberty will return home very soon to launch the Africa Christian University in Liberia, West Africa. The goal of this university is to prepare Christian and political leaders, and others in various disciplines to serve God and humanity faithfully in the 21st century. The joy that we have as board members is, Dr. Liberty began the work of training for the purpose of preparing missionaries at home. God sent this couple as the first missionaries to prepare them for the task. Now that He has been trained, he is praying and ready to continue his vision of providing Christian education in Africa.

Your tax-deductible donation will be used in three areas: (1) To provide scholarship for needy students at the Africa Christian University. Presently, they are providing scholarships to 100 students in Liberia at the Christian High School that they operate in Africa. They are  praying to provide more scholarships to students at the university because the unemployment rate in Liberia is 85 percent, and most students would need financial aid or scholarships. (2) To send 40-foot container of assorted books for the university, clothing, food, and Dr. Liberty’s personal effects to Liberia. And, (3) To meet one of the requirements of the National Commission on Higher Education in Liberia. The Commission requires, among others, that, "The amount of US$100. 000.00 or its equivalent or an insurance bond for a bachelor's degree presented to the National Commission on Higher Education as collateral."

Please help to make this dream a reality with your one-time  gift of any amount.  What you make happen for someone, God will bless you through others to make your dream come true.
