Shelter Evicted For Christmas!!
$1, $5 ....anything you can donate is appreciated and will hopefully help save our animals within the next month!!!!! Instead of buying a coffee today, help save our shelter!!!!!
Hi my name is Anna Pec and I work at Cache Creek Rescue in Joliet, IL. We are a non-kill, non-for-profit shelter that saves dogs and cats that are to be euthanized at kill shelters in 11 different counties to bring to our shelter for adoption as well as several owner surrenders and dogs from puppy mills. We solely run off of help from our volunteers and donations. We don’t have much but it has been enough to save the lives of many animals that would have been euthanized otherwise. Donna, the owner, single handedly drives to these locations every week to help these animals with the most minimal transportation she has. As of Friday, we received an eviction notice due to our landlord not being up to code upon a recent building inspection. If things couldn't get worse at our Joliet location, we constantly have flooding in Anna, IL as well, our hub location for most of our animals to be bought to Joliet, and Donna's transportation vehicle is falling apart. We desperately NEED the help of a News station to tell our story! We will be homeless for the holidays and our amazing animals don’t need any more hardship in their lives! Below you will find the post from our shelter as it is currently displayed on Facebook for more information. PLEASE HELP US BY DONATING TO OUR CAUSE!
I personally have an animal of my own from this shelter and couldn’t imagine such an amazing organization no longer being able to exist and these animals being homeless. Any contractors who can help with these issues will be able to use the work and supplies as a tax right off. Also, another option is trying to find another location if we can receive enough funding as it is uncertain if the landlord will let us renew our lease at all in July if we even avoid the eviction in January. Thank you for any help you can provide. If a receipt is needed for any type of monetary donation, please email us at Cachecreekanimalrescue@yahoo.com.

"I want everyone to know what happened Friday night to start my weekend from hell. Everyone knows how much we love our location and all the hard work that has been done. Teresa Caraker Braswell painted our beautiful mural, Christine had the old carpeting pulled out and professional tile put in. Salvatore Maratto has lovingly decorated our cat room and senior room. Dan has been putting cabinets in, Cyndi Heiden has donated materials and orchestrated donations. Doug Buell and Kelly Balchunas Buell donate tons of time doing adoption events. Melissa Ryerson does so much and it goes on and on. This is my family. Friday I receive an opened certified letter that we did not sign for. It is an eviction notice. My homeless animals and my extended family will be homeless for the holidays. No later than January 10th we are out. With no location and no money we get to spend our holidays wondering what to do. I am at a loss as to what to do. There is no reason given but the landlord was being sunmoned because we do not gave a permanent permit. An architect will not do a rendering because of our hot water heater placement, our drainage system, we are not ADA compatable, our parking lot is notproperly marked. Due to these issues we cannot get a permit. So..we will be homeless at Christmas. The Grinch lives. I am at a loss."

Let's continue to spread the word before Christmas so our animals don't become homeless! Thank you to everyone who is helping! This means more to the Cache Creek family and our adoptable furry friends than you will ever know!

Meet Savannah. The first photo is of Savannah when Cache Creek Animal Rescue first received her from an animal cruelty case out of Kentucky. The last two photos were taken of Savannah this morning at our adoption center in New Lenox after a few months of pure love from our volunteer staff at our location in Southern IL. This is why we do what we do. To help those who cannot help themselves.
Donations allow us the possibility to be able to take in animals from less than ideal situations and nurse them back to health as well as ultimately find them a home where they will never know cruelty like this again. Please consider donating to our cause so we may also continue to care for the animals (i.e. those who are seniors, from cruelty/hoarding cases, are heartworm positive, have disabilities) who just need a little more love in this world. Thank you.
Savannah will be available for adoption soon.

So great to see what happens when animal lovers come together for a really great cause. I have 2 large metal crates to donate so I'll get to see the new facility. Anyone who can help, please do. Congratulations to the great staff of Cache Creek for all your hard work to make this happen and thank you to all who contributed.
I am personally very happy that your goals were surpassed !, Yeah !, now it's time that Donna Hawk gets a vehicle
Hope all is going well. What is your most urgent need?
Not sure if you have an Amazon account with a list of items you need or not. Another local shelter (Paws) has one which allows you to shop for the items they need and purchase through Amazon and then they ship to you. Just a thought.
It brings tears of happiness to my eyes thanks to seeing how many people have helped these angels. I will stop by to bring some treats, toys, whatever I can in the new location as soon as I am out of school
Anna, I just paid your entry fee for the #ChicagoPetShow via this site. Good luck!
Great news - so happy that you found an architect and that you will soon be in your new home. Congratulations!!!
I'm artsy fartsy~what do you need for the boutique??
Our numbers are not connected yet because we are moving our kennel out of the flood zone in Anna, IL currently as well as still trying to open our new location. Emailing me through GoFundMe will get you a guaranteed response within an hour or so usually to any question or suggestion you may have
All of your phone numbers are disconnected. How can we reach you
Hi Anna, what kind of electrical work do yip need done in the new location?
Great to see your fundraising way up there relative to initial goal and more importantly that you are apparently moving that shelter elsewhere. If New Lenox is inviting you and helping to point you to a viable location/facility...then this is ultimately the best action you can take and continue your shelter cause. Also good to hear that so many animals got adopted. Keep up the good work and I am keeping in touch and hoping you find the best solution to the X-mas eviction dilemma!
Well deserved indeed :) glad to hear you guys are doing great.
Well deserved, Cache Creek!
