IVF for Baby Williams

Hello Everyone,

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Tori. I am Makayla's older sister! I am making this gofundme page in hopes to help out my sister and brother in law. First let me give you a little background on their journey.

Makayla and Jonathan married in April of 2016. They have had such a happy marriage since then with some curve balls thrown at them, but what marriage doesn't? In October of 2016, they decided that they wanted to start trying for a baby. Makayla came off birth control and had the mindset that if God wanted to make them parents he would on his time. They tried and tried to conceive with no luck, and finally after a year of trying they decided to seek professional help.

In November of 2017, Makayla went to her OBGYN and learned she had PCOS. She figured being diagnosed with PCOS this was the reasoning behind their failure to conceive. They started her on medication to help with the PCOS and hoped this would help them to have a baby. Months passed and the medication still did not seem to help. Her doctor suggested maybe to seek the help of an infertility doctor. Of course, they want to seek all the help they can get because this should be a natural and very easy thing to accomplish. They went to an infertility doctor in Atlanta where tests were ran on both and their infertility doctor referred Jonathan to a Urologist. The urologist ran test on Jonathan and the test results were their worst nightmare. Jonathan was diagnosed with CAVD (Congenital absence of the vas deferens). This is something 1-2% of men are born with that never develop.

Their doctors gave them a couple options to settle this. 1. give up, and not have a family. That is a big NO! 2. Take the necessary steps to have the procedures done to try and conceive through IVF. or 3. Adoption.
They want at least one child of their own so very badly, so option number 1 is completely out of the question. Option number 3 isn't totally out, but they are in hopes IVF will work and they will not have to resort to number 3.

Fast forward to now, some will say "wow, ya'll are too young to have kids."or "wow, I'm so sorry, but there is a reason for everything." The fact is yes they are young, but they would love to start a family of their own and being told you may never be able to have kids of your own is earth shattering. They want to take the necessary steps to try and have kids of their own before they are older when recovery from surgery is longer or when they're older and both of their diagnosis has worsens. I wanted to start this gofundme page in hopes to raise money for my sister to help with their procedures. I also want to raise awareness of this problem, because there are many who deal with this daily but are not open about it. They keep it to themselves because they don't want others knowing what they are going through.

Any donation will help them. If you are unable to donate money, positive comments and prayers will also help to lift their spirits. Their insurance only covers so much, and with the steps they are going to have to take towards IVF it will be very costly. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please help me share my sister and brother in law's story in hopes it will reach another family going through the same thing!
