Building a Barn for Rescued Llamas

$470 of $7,500 goal

Raised by 9 people in 43 months
We are StillPointe Llama Sanctuary, a non-profit llama rescue and educational organization (ID#91-2073601) registered and located in Washington State.  We operate totally by donations and have been in the process of building a barn to shelter our animals, many of whom are old and/or have special needs. We have come to a standstill in the project due to lack of funds.  We are to the point of putting the roofing on and need $7500.00 to bring it to completion.
Right now we are depending for shelter on small, temporary quonset type huts built from hog panels and tarps.  These are just not adequate when the weather turns rainy, snowy, windy and cold.  Many of our critters just cannot withstand the elements due to compromised health and age.
Please go to our website: http://www.stillpointesanctuary.org to see what it is we do.  Thank you for anything you can do!

We have the building up and in use somewhat. It now needs paint/stain/weatherproofing (all the nail holes on the outside must be calked before everything molds! We need to install electricity and purchase and hang lights and put a set of sliding doors on the front. We also need to install a small stove to heat the place in what promises to be a COLD winter. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far...you are our Angels!

The barn is in much the same state it was when we last commented (14 months ago). Now we need the doors purchased/built and hung, materials for feeders to be built and installed in each stall and on the perimeter of the barn to feed during the good weather. We also need paint for interior and exterior. That work will be done by us with the help of as many volunteers as we can find. Once it stops raining and blowing long enough to get some good photos of the building and our progress they will be posted here. We promise next time the sun appears for more than a minute we'll be clicking away camerawise. In the meantime here are some "in process" from the beginning.

Since our builder is such a good guy, he allowed us to get the roofing materials and have them installed (!!!!) before paying him the entire amount. That is wonderful, as we now have a roof on the barn. However, we STILL owe wages for the builder and his helpers. Also the interior needs to be completed. Please pass this information to all your friends so we can get more help with this project. The llamas have taken to standing outside the building staring inside - especially when it's raining and nasty - asking WHEN CAN WE USE THIS SPACE???? Poor things!

Thanks to all who have donated so far! We are gaining on the funds we need and decided to have the roof shingles ordered. Our builder is so good about working with us and our tentative financial situation. We're very grateful! We hope everyone who reads our fund raising efforts will pass the idea of donating as a holiday present for someone along to all their friends and acquaintances! Happy holidays to everyone!

Will post photos soon.
With the rain and wind we've been having here it will be so nice when we have a place to put the more fragile critters so they can stay dry.
