Let's talk about breakups. Or queer breakups. Or the first queer breakup.

All of us at least once dreamt that our exes would come back to our lives so we could start over - and do everything right this time. Or maybe, so that we could tell them everything we never got to say. How would it go? Would we be able to avoid the same mistakes, or would it all come full circle?

Join me and my main character Reverie on this journey from nostalgia to new chances and the unknown becoming a closure. Your donations will help me make a dream of any romantic come true for Reverie. Let's make this happen in the whimsical short drama "It's March 17th and I'm still in love with you".

LOGLINE:

When a woman holding on to her heartbreak tries to erase an old cassette tape from her ex girlfriend, the past refuses to let go — and her ex mysteriously answers back, blurring the thin line between memory and reality.

SYNOPSIS:

February. Reverie is a girl who has a hard time letting go. She works in an antique store finding comfort in all things old. But that’s not the only thing she holds on to - she keeps an old tape record from her ex girlfriend with love messages, which she often replays. How could such a soft and caring person leave her so abruptly? How does one find closure after that?

One of the days in search for answers to these questions Reverie decides to put an end to her hopes and erase her ex’s message for good. But for some reason it does not work, the old recording is still there, yet something else happens... Her ex answers back.

PRODUCTION:

The script for this short film was written during my completion of OCAD U Screenwriting Course. It was then pitched and selected by the audience and jury at ScriptFest in Sudbury, ON!
