Giving back in Israel!

Hi, thanks for looking at my page!

     My name is Jake and i'm a sophomore at Merrimack College. I've been playing and coaching lacrosse for over ten years now and i've been fortunate enough to earn a scholarship to play in college. Along with playing lacrosse, I'm a Resident Advisor, a student government senator, dining committee chairman, and I volunteer locally on the weekends, so you can say i'm very busy!

     While writing a paper on Israel earlier this year, I realized that there is an amazing opportunity for me to be able to give back to those less fortunate through the sport of lacrosse! In Israel, the sport is rapidly growing and the need for coaches and mentors are at an all-time high. The biggest reward to me would to be able to motivate youth players to reach their goals of playing in college and beyond, through teaching them discipline, dedication, and hard-work.

     For a lot of the youth players, lacrosse is an outlet for them to be temporarily distracted from the constant unrest between Israel and Palestine. If I could help even one player feel more inspired and hopeful, the whole trip would be worthwhile to me!

     So I'm traveling through this program called Birthright Israel, which is free of charge for just one week and covers airfare costs. Since I will be in Israel for a total of five weeks, I'm asking for your help! The $4,000 would help fund the Israeli lacrosse programs. Your donation also encompasses; accomodations, team equiptment, two meals a day, housing, and travel expenses while in Israel!

     I'm leaving on July 5th so if you could donate before then that would be awesome! I'll also be posting weekly updates of my trip on my Youtube channel so you can see what I'm up to!
