As part of our #LinkedinCares initiative- I'm bringing it back to what drives me each and every day- the basic reason I open my eyes every morning...
I was bullied from a young age and struggled with feelings of low self-esteem, however back in those days, before youtube and social media, I wish campaigns like "It gets better" were around so that I didn't feel so alone. Now that I'm older and know first hand that all things pass- I'm grateful that I was willing to push through the hard times and come out the other end stronger and more compassionate.
The Trevor Project has found a way to show young kids and teens who have that extra layer of struggling with gender and sexuality questions that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel, who they are is valued, and that it DOES get better.
Throughout the 2 months I will challenge myself to do as many positive things as possible in my immediate and larger community to bring light and positivity to the lives of those around me- will you help me drive this challenge forward and help bring hope to young people who need it?
To help me stay motivated and accountable I have set up a link BELOW so you can sponsor me for EACH ACT OF GOOD that I do. At the end the money will go to the charity listed to the right!
During this timeframe my goal is to do 10 acts of good. Therefore, that should give you an idea of what to multiply your sponsorship by. However, I hope to crush my goal for this contest so keep that in mind when choosing your amount. To help keep me accountable I will be posting each event I go to on Twitter.
