Hello everyone, we the brothers of Theta Chi Fraternity recently lost our brother Tyler Schripsema. This is a tough time for us, and especially his family, because Tyler has a deep place in all of our hearts. In his 23 years of life he truly lived and embraced each, and every day. He wasn’t one to ever let a moment slip by, and would grasp every opportunity offered. He grew up in Modesto, CA and attended Thomas Downey High School. After graduating he pursued one of life’s greatest assets, a higher education. Tyler enrolled at Modesto Junior College and then transferred to CSU Stanislaus.

            While in college he served as a leader amongst the community by being an Eagle Scout, Theta Chi Brother, and founder of the Marketing Club. Within the fraternity, he served as one of our best Philanthropy Chairs. He pushed and created ideas to raise funds and help, not only our organization but the local community as well. He took a huge personal interest in Row-A-Thon, which was an event put on in memory of another brother who had passed due to asthma. He led us through the event and raised a high amount which was donated to Asthma organizations.

After years of hard-work, this great man graduated with a degree in Business. However, three days after his graduation he was in a drowning accident at a music festival, some of his last words will forever be with us, "This is the best day of my life". While we hoped and prayed and the doctors did everything they could, he passed away. While he may have passed he still lives on in the hearts of everyone he interacted with as he was an inspiration to every life he touched. In this hard time, we are attempting to help his family finance the coming funeral. Any donation amount would help make a difference. We will post updates in regards to the funeral as it is currently in the midst of being planned.
