In Memory of Ted & Tyza, to help with research.

Tyza was a 12 year old Staffy and Ted a 6 year old bulldog, they were much loved family dogs that lived in Cornwall and liked walks on the beach and in the woods.
Over Xmas and New year they both contracted "Alabama Rot" from exposure to it somewhere out on their normal walks, It is an aggressive disease which quickly causes skin lesions followed by kidney failure, although they both received treatment Ted sadly died on Xmas Eve and Tyza on 4th Jan.
There have only been 177 confirmed cases in the UK since 2012 so it is rare, and 9 out of 10 dogs who develop it will die.
The Alabama Rot Research Fund (ARRF) is trying to raise 240k to find out more about the disease and hopefully discover how and why it occurs and ultimately prevent & cure it.  We agreed to post mortems on our dogs as this is the only way to confirm the disease, otherwise cases are listed as "suspected".
As the owners of Tyza and Ted we are obviously devastated at the loss of our companions and felt we wanted to do something towards this research so that in the future other owners will not have to go through the heartbreak that we have.
If you are a dog owner you can go to the website detailed below for more information.
Please donate if you can, all donations are paid direct to the charity.
Thank you.
