In memory of Natasha Wong

Donation protected

It is hard to explain the impact that Natasha Wong had in the life of so many. As a member of RMTA, Natasha was one of the very first to work on fundraising and support for an organization that was very little at the time - RAINN - and as an adult and a mother of two sons, the oldest a child with significant mental disabilities, she rose to the challenge every day to help her children and to advocate for change.

In December, it was discovered that Natasha had a vascular mass, roughly the size of an orange. As a woman, she presented the same symptoms over and over to practitioners: migraines, being tired, agitation. And, for several years, doctors attributed most of these to, well, simply depression, tied to the difficulties of raising a special needs child.

It wasn't until a doctor finally truly believed her and ran an MRI that we discovered the mass in her brain. And, at that point, it was simply too late.

I cannot easily sum up the joy that it was to know her, nor can I explain the impact she had on the world through her advocacy. She will leave behind young boys, and challenges ahead.

Long term care expenditures for her children, costs related to her medical care and services will be the primary use of any donation.

Most importantly, though, we are raising funds here at the request of many of her friends and so many who wanted to find a way to honor her, to show that they cared for her and the work and advocacy she represented.

Funds will be used for ongoing care of her children and for her memorial wishes.

Update!

Well, there has to be some items sent to satisfy GoFundMe apparently. My name is Chris Reeves, as you can tell by the diary below at Daily Kos. I am the spouse of Natasha Wong, we were married for 20 years, together 22/23 (roughly).  I am also the one who will be handling the withdraws from this, as I am handling her affairs after her passing.
