In Memory of Maureen Oglesby
Donation protected
Maureen Oglesby, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister, passed away on Wednesday, May 22nd with her family by her side.
Maureen was an amazing woman who loved her family more than anything. Family to her was anyone she loved, anyone who loved anyone she loved or anyone who loved her, regardless of relation. She built our family.
Maureen gave everything to her family. She grew up without the love that a child should receive and worked her entire life to instill love and support to all around her. Her husband of 40 years and her opened their home to those without family support throughout the years including foster children as well as anyone who was in need. Money was never even a consideration in helping another.
For me, I lived with my grandma until I was about 3 while my mother went to college. We would not have been able to support ourselves otherwise. She raised me to be kind, thoughtful, feisty and strong. Without her, I would not have been able to invest in my education. Her ongoing support emotionally and financially allowed me to be the first in my family to earn a Bachelor's degree. I have devoted my life to helping others in the nonprofit field because of her.
This love and support to those around her and her sudden passing leave behind funeral and medical expenses that there is just no funding for.
Maureen gave so much to her family and community. To all of us. She deserves a remembrance as grand as her love for us.
Please help us, her family, give her that remembrance as well as transition her financial affairs. Her greatest fear was being a burden to her family. She never was, ever, and please assist us in continuing to honor her wish.
Any funds remaining after memorial and medical expenses are taken care of will be donated to:
A Precious Child, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to providing opportunities and resources to children in need to empower them to achieve their full potential. 100% of any donation provided by Maureen's family will go directly to programming for disadvantaged and displaced children.
