In Memory of Kristi Hill

Donation protected
My name is Jon Ferrendelli, I am Rob and Kristi’s son in law. This gofundme campaign has been organized on behalf of the Hill family in an effort to recoup some of Kristi’s life insurance.

Kristi Hill passed away unexpectedly on August 10th from an infection that none of the doctors have been able to find. Her family and friends are grieving the loss of their mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend.

Kristi recently had to quit her job due to the development of a hernia. Rob had life insurance on Kristi, but during a recent corporate merger her life insurance was dropped. With Kristi only being 47 years old Rob and Kristi don’t have money set aside for final expenses. This account will help relieve some of the financial burden on the family allowing them to grieve properly, eliminate medical bills from past surgeries and the recent stay in intensive care unit, the costs of the memorial, as well as funds to help Zak and the girls cope with their loss moving forward.

Kristi had a few hernias over the past couple years, with the latest requiring surgery to implant a mesh along her abdominal wall to hopefully prevent any more issues. Her healing had been progressing as of the two-week post-op appointment; however, the next night she contracted a fever. Thursday Kristi was feeling short of breath leading Rob to call an ambulance to take her to Mercy Gilbert. Due to her low blood pressure and low oxygen levels Kristi was put in the ICU that night. Kristi was not stable enough to be taken to the operating room to find the infection and the doctors had to turn her ICU room into an operating room. From this point on Kristi was intubated and on multiple medications to stabilize her blood pressure and fight her infection. Kristi was also placed on dialysis to improve her kidney function. Over the next two days, Kristi remained in the ICU, as doctors worked around the clock to try to save her life and identify where the infection was coming from.  Unfortunately, the infection shut down her organs before a solution was found and she passed away early Saturday afternoon surrounded by her loved ones.

Her two daughters, Kayla and Alyssa, each recently married, will face challenges moving forward now missing the role model, best friend, and support system their mother served them as. Kayla, Kristi’s oldest, and her husband Jon are expecting their first child late this year. Kristi was so excited to meet baby Ferrendelli, her first grandchild. Alyssa, Kristi’s middle child, has recently discussed with her mom prior to her passing that she was going to go back to school in efforts to earn her BSN and become a registered nurse.

Zak, Kristi’s youngest at 14, has had to face far too much tragedy already in his early stages of life. Zak recently starting his freshman year in high school is trying to picture these next four years of his life without his mother.

Rob, Kristi’s husband of 13 years, is heartbroken, and left with limited answers. The two of them together have built a life full of happiness, laughter, and experiences, though cut far too short. They enjoyed spending time with their children as well as their large group of friends, often at Kristi’s favorite spot, TC’s.

Any contribution to help this family move forward would be greatly appreciated.
