In memory of Katie Dube

It is with great sadness that we report that Katie Dube lost her life in a motor vehicle collision. Katie was an amazing and vibrant young woman. She was attending a hybrid firefighter 1 class and was so excited to test and fight fire. When she came to Cross Fire Dept she jumped in with two feet and meshed so well with everyone. She was like a permanent fixture within days. The one thing I can truly say about Katie is she loves potpourri and flowery wax melts. She came into our station and put girly decorations everywhere including the chiefs bathroom ( he was like what is this ). The biggest achievement in Katie’s life are her children. She loves those babies. Katie is survived by her fiancé Davey Sweet and her two beautiful daughters Brooklyn (4) and Kennedy (2). Her fiancé is currently out of work taking care of the children and trying to help them understand what is going on. I can’t imagine their pain. We are raising money to help with any medical expenses from the girls and to offset the burial expenses as much as possible. Katie had a zest for life that I can’t describe. Cross Fire Dept has lost a huge part of our department today. We will continue to be there for the family and will do our best to show the girls how dedicated their mom was to the fire department and to them. She is an amazing woman and will be deeply missed.
