In Memory of Joshua Thomas Muzuma

On behalf of the Muzuma family, this GoFundMe campaign has been created in memory of Joshua Thomas Muzuma, who passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. Your generous donations will help defray the international costs of transporting Joshua from Washington, D.C., to his home in Dar es Salaam, where he will be laid to rest.

The following information has been added here at the request of the GoFundMe Team:
1. My name is Garry Bertholf and I'm a professor at Davidson College in North Carolina.
2. I currently live with my family in Davidson, North Carolina. 
3. Joshua's twin brother, Joseph, is a dear friend; we were classmates together at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Joseph asked me to create this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of his immediate family, including his parents, Sebastian ("Thomas") and Joyce, and his sister, Dorcas.
4. The funds raised here will be used to pay for Joshua to be transported from Bacon Funeral Home in Washington, D.C., to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, at an estimated cost of $9,500.00. Together with Joshua's cousin, Oscar Lusungu, who was recently granted power of attorney, I plan to escort Joshua to his family in Dar es Salaam. Sometime later today (9/12) Joshua will be transported from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to the funeral home in Columbia Heights. A memorial service for Joshua will take place on 9/22 in Rockville, Maryland, so that folks here in the States may pay their respects (though the exact time and location of the service have not yet been determined). At the request of his brother, then, any funds raised in excess of $9,500.00 will form part of a charitable donation to be made in Joshua's name.
5. Your generous donations will be withdrawn when Oscar and I settle the bill with the funeral home; the Muzumas will received the rest of the funds in person when I arrive at their home in Kigamboni.
