In memory of Jonny Smith

Yesterday the world lost a beautiful soul, a loving son, and great friend to several kids in the community. While walking home from Faiss Middle School, Jonny and another boy were struck by a car at the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Maule Avenue just after 3:30 p.m.
Both Jonny and his friend were transported to Southern hills Hospital, where Jonny passed away from the injuries that he sustained.
Jonny was brought up in a house with three strong women, that loved to talk, laugh and spend time together. His mother Sue is one of the hardest working moms’ I know. She has dedicated every ounce of energy she has to her children and takes pride in all their accomplishments.
Jonny blessed everyone he met with his vibrant soul and love for life. He had a brilliant mind and a creative energy that was absolutely magnetic. He was a talented golf player, a student of karate, and a lover of animals. Jonny was an amazing son, brother, and uncle to Jeremy; with the gift to talk, just like his mother Sue and sisters Kaitlin & Emily.
Jonny was blessed to have a close group of friends that have known each other from Kindergarten. Now that he is gone, a piece of their & our hearts will be forever missing. Our hearts are heavy & hurting more than words could describe for Jonny’s family, our kids, and the great loss to our community.
Jonny will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
