Created January 4, 2019
James was a cherished member of our East Coast Flightcraft family.  James was a pure spirit and a most generous & giving human being, with his generousity continuing even after his passing when he donated his organs so others may live.

Donations will be used by his family to cover James’ medical & related costs resulting from the accident & his hospitalization, to honor James with a celebration of life event where family and friends will come together to share stories and memorialize James’ joyful life, payment of James’ debts and to offer support to James’ family as needed.

We cannot thank you enough for the kindness, the love, and the generosity we have received over the last few days in honor of James (or as I call him, Nick!) I've talked to people who have also lost loved ones, siblings, parents, etc way too soon and it has forever changed my outlook on life.

We are organizing a benefit in honor of James, to celebrate this life and his gift of organ donation, as well as to connect with more people who've lost loved ones. Please come join us!

James Nicholas Leavitt passed away at 5:14pm on January 3rd, 2019 at just 26 years old. He fought for two days with the help of his incredible medical team and his friends and family. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. We held his hand the entire time and never let go. We talked him through it and he peacefully went to meet my father.

Nick’s love and affect on people didn’t stop at the time of his death. He had registered as an organ donor years ago and we honored that. His kidneys and liver were donated so two recipients that desperately needed them. We watched him go and the staff at Beth Israel SICU read a statement telling them who he was to thank him for the gift of life he was passing to others.

We want to thank the incredible staff at Frisbie Hospital in Rochester, the medflight crew who got him to Boston and the Beth Israel SICU who were with him 24/7, as well as supporting his entire army of friends and family. His doctor said other staff asked if someone famous was in the hospital...that’s how many people were there for him.

James Nicholas Leavitt was my little brother but I never considered him little. He was my partner in crime, my support, and even though we were born three years apart, we could understand each other just by a look or noise as if we were twins.

Thank you TO ALL his friends and family for coming. We loved the stories and memories you shared with us. He is incredible and because of you, he is infinite.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
